Path Defenders Asks: What If MMORPG Raiding Played Like Tower Defense? Free Demo Out, Launch November 10

What if raiding in an MMORPG played like a tower defense game? Path Defenders, the answer to that question from solo developer Benjamin Adams, fuses single-player MMORPG raiding with tower defense — and its free demo is out now ahead of a November 10 launch on Steam.

MMO Roles, Defense Lines

The store page pitches it cleanly: recruit heroes, build “bizarre but devastating towers,” and fight beside them in real-time 3D combat against waves of enemies. Your party fills the classic MMO roles — tank, healer, DPS, support — and holds the line through 3D waves and bosses, with the tower builds doing the strategy work raids usually demand from fourteen other people.

From an EverQuest Veteran, No AI

The pedigree is personal: Adams is a longtime EverQuest player, and the game’s press kit notes no generative AI was used in the game or its assets — handcrafted in the old raid-planner spirit. The free demo is live now; the full game launches November 10, 2026.

Path Defenders reached us through GamerMenu’s indie submissions program — a genre fusion obvious enough that you wonder why nobody shipped it sooner.
