Grace Ashcroft’s Story
The new story trailer focuses on protagonist Grace Ashcroft and her backstory. The footage is genuinely unsettling — a power outage sends Grace and her mother into panic, before a seemingly kind old man is suffocated with plastic wrap and his throat is slit. It only gets darker from there.
Classic RE, New Direction
The trailer suggests Capcom is doubling down on psychological horror rather than the action-heavy approach of recent entries. The atmosphere is reminiscent of the original Resident Evil’s mansion dread, but with modern production values that make every shadow feel threatening.
Where’s Leon?
Fans have noticed that Leon S. Kennedy — a fan favorite — has been conspicuously absent from the promotional materials. Capcom is keeping quiet about whether he’ll appear, but the focus on Grace suggests this is her story first and foremost.
Resident Evil Requiem could be the horror event of 2026. February 27 can’t come soon enough.
