The rumors were true: Five Nights at Freddy’s is officially coming to Fortnite. After months of speculation and teasing, Epic Games has confirmed the animatronic horror franchise will headline this year’s Fortnitemares Halloween event, with a new trailer formally revealing the crossover.
The Fazbear Band Takes Over Battle Royale
The trailer confirms Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria will appear as a location on the Battle Royale map — and its residents are not there to make friends. Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy will all feature as bosses that players can take on in a fight, bringing the series’ animatronic nightmares directly into Fortnite’s combat sandbox.
“It’s almost showtime!” Epic announced. “The Fazbear Band has taken over Battle Royale. Face the animatronic animal bosses and survive the night… if you can. Fortnitemares begins 1st October!”
The Worst-Kept Secret on the Island
The confirmation caps a long-running guessing game. The crossover had been expected for a while — the pizzeria itself appeared on the island during Fortnite’s Override season, and recent weeks brought increasingly unsubtle hints, from security cameras to FNAF dialogue slipped into Fortnitemares teasers. Data miners and fans had all but called it; now it is official.
Fortnitemares Begins October 1
Fortnitemares is Fortnite’s annual Halloween spooktacular, and the 2026 edition kicks off on October 1. Between the Fazbear crew and whatever else Epic has tucked into the event, Battle Royale is about to get a whole lot less survivable — which, in the FNAF universe, is precisely the point.
