God of War Laufey arrives on PS5 on February 16, 2027 — and as of today, September 29 at 10:00am local time, pre-orders are officially live. Santa Monica Studio detailed every edition and bonus on the PlayStation Blog, alongside new footage of Faye’s combat.
What Every Pre-Order Gets You
Pre-ordering any version of God of War Laufey — digital or physical — unlocks the same digital bonus pack: the Last Wish Armor Set, a golden Phranque Golden Leaves cosmetic appearance, and an in-game resource pack. Physical Standard Edition buyers receive the bonuses via a download code, and the items unlock through story progression.
The Digital Deluxe Edition
Beyond the Standard Edition there is exactly one variant: the Digital Deluxe Edition, which bundles the Dark Alchemy Armor Set, Dark Alchemy Blade, Dark Alchemy Bow Scales and Dark Alchemy Catalyst, plus an in-game resource pack, a digital mini artbook and the official soundtrack. Notably, there is no physical collector’s edition — and as KitGuru points out, Laufey is one of the final first-party PlayStation titles to get a physical disc release at all.
Faye’s Serpent Bow, Explained
The new gameplay deep-dive focuses on Faye’s Serpent Bow, and it makes God of War look surprisingly acrobatic. Full-aim precision mode lets Faye charge up to five arrows for a powerful volley, while precise shots impair an enemy’s movement or ability to strike, opening up melee follow-ups. Half-aim hip-fire mode is the opposite: a more mobile stance that spits cluster arrows for devastating close-range damage, juggles airborne enemies and extends combos as you swap between weapons and abilities.
The bow supports multiple arrow types — rapid fire, explosive and multi-target — and Serpent Scales change both its look and its perk, with unlockable skills expanding its capabilities further. KitGuru compares the aerial juggling — helped by Phranque’s ability to launch enemies up into the sky — to Devil May Cry or Marvel’s Spider-Man, a clear departure from the weightier combat of Kratos’s Norse outings in 2018’s God of War and Ragnarok.
A Glimpse of the Everywhen
Laufey stars Faye as an expert warrior exploring the Everywhen — the afterlife of the gods — where her customizable Blade element, Serpent Bow Scales and magical Catalysts define your playstyle. Since its reveal in June, the game has looked like a major stylistic swing for Santa Monica Studio. Expect more news “before you know it,” the studio says, ahead of the February 16, 2027 launch.
