PlayStation Plus members now know what October looks like. Sony has revealed the Monthly Games lineup for October 2026: racing sim F1 25, extraction shooter Hunt: Showdown 1896, and voxel spin-off Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2. All three will be claimable from Tuesday, October 6 until Monday, November 2, as announced on September 30 by Adam Michel, Senior Director of Content Acquisition & Operations at Sony Interactive Entertainment.
What’s in the October Lineup
F1 25 (PS5) is the official video game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship. Alongside the single-player Career mode, My Team 2.0 lets you create your own F1 story as the Owner of a Formula 1 team, while the F1 World multiplayer mode sends you and your friends racing as a squad against AI drivers.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 (PS5) is what Sony calls an “addictively unforgiving extraction shooter.” In corrupted backwaters lost to history, you fight twisted monsters and ruthless rival Hunters to claim bounties and fight your way out — alone, or with up to two teammates.
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 (PS5, PS4) turns the EDF formula voxel-shaped: the square Earth is under attack by giant enemies, and you rescue and collect teammates to build a four-soldier squad from across the mainline series and its spin-offs. It supports four-player online co-op and two-player local split-screen.
Last Chance for September’s Games
Members have until Monday, October 5 to add September’s games — Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life and Chained Echoes — to their libraries.
Spooky-Season Extras
October’s lineup arrives with Halloween-adjacent bonuses. PS Plus Exclusive HorrorFest packs include a Call of Duty: Warzone Horror Bundle (October 1), a Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack (October 6), and an Overwatch 2 Reinhardt bundle with five tier skips (October 7). On top of that, limited-edition Spider-Man: Brand New Day avatars will be claimable on Sony Pictures Core from October 6 — the same day the movie arrives there — at no extra cost for PS Plus members, until October 20.
As Kotaku points out, though, for a lineup landing in the middle of spooky season these games aren’t really scary at all: one creepy-vibes shooter flanked by a racing sim and an EDF spin-off.
The reveal continues a busy stretch for the PlayStation ecosystem — God of War Laufey pre-orders just went live, and Sony is fighting PS5 Pro scalpers with a 60-hour playtime lottery in Japan.
