AION 2, NC’s sequel to its long-running fantasy MMORPG, opened global early access on September 30 — and it went straight to the top. The game peaked at 171,530 concurrent players on Steam, according to SteamDB, and as of October 1 more than 100,000 players were actively playing it on Valve’s platform.

Topping the Charts

The global service runs on two PC platforms: Steam and PURPLE, NC’s own launcher. The concurrent-player figures only count Steam users — they don’t include players on PURPLE, where the game is also live.

Alongside the start of early access, AION 2 climbed to #1 on Steam’s global Top Sellers chart on September 30, and placed first in the sales rankings of 12 countries, including the United States, France, Germany, Spain, and Brazil. Before launch, the game had already surpassed 1.3 million Steam wishlists.

When Can Everyone Play?

Global early access is currently open to players who purchased a Founder’s Pack, letting them in ahead of the official release. NC has scheduled AION 2’s official global service launch for October 5.

The game is operated across four server regions — North America, South America, Europe, and Japan in Asia — supporting eight languages, including English, Japanese, French, German, and Spanish. Further details on the global service are available on the official AION 2 website.
