One of the biggest shooters of the decade is finally joining Xbox Game Pass — and it’s bringing a new season with it. Microsoft has revealed the first wave of October 2026 Game Pass additions, and the headline is Battlefield 6: 2025’s best-selling game arrives on the subscription service for the first time on October 13, via cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. It joins almost exactly one year after launch — and, as Kotaku notes, just in time for the start of its Las Vegas-themed Season 5.
EA Play Perks and a Packed Wave
Subscribers get more than just access. Per Xbox Wire, Game Pass Ultimate members (who have EA Play included) can unlock the EA Play Deployment Pack, claim the Season 5 EA Play Pack and earn recurring seasonal rewards, plus the standing 10% off eligible EA digital purchases. It’s the full package treatment for a game Kotaku describes as having a campaign that was “enjoyable but rough around the edges” but core multiplayer — especially on the bigger maps — that “remains stellar.”
Battlefield 6 headlines a busy two weeks: day-one time-loop metroidvania Echo Weaver, road-trip adventure Forever Ago and roguelike platformer Neon Abyss 2 land October 8; day-one Deep Dish Dungeon and Valor Mortis — a first-person action soulslike from the creators of Ghostrunner — join BF6 on October 13; Bluey’s Happy Snaps and co-op gladiator roguelike Chained Beasts arrive October 15; and space-whale city-builder Beyond These Stars closes the wave October 16.
Leaving Soon — While an Old Rival Circles
The additions come with subtractions. On October 15, Game Pass loses A Plague Tale: Requiem, Pacific Drive, Evil West, The Casting of Frank Stone — and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, one of 2025’s most celebrated RPGs. And the Battlefield timing is hard to miss: Call of Duty’s Modern Warfare 4 launches this month with Infinity Ward promising a return to the franchise’s roots — but as Kotaku points out, the longtime Call of Duty rival won’t have its competitor on the service with it, because Xbox’s ongoing reset means the newest Call of Duty won’t hit Game Pass at launch. The subscription gets the 2025 heavyweight instead. For anyone who skipped Battlefield 6’s first year, October 13 is now the cheapest possible time to report for duty.
