Dave the Diver is ending its run with a crossover made in heaven. The underwater adventure from MintRocket is getting a Subnautica 2-themed DLC pack in early 2027 — and it’s completely free, as Eurogamer reports. It will be the game’s final DLC.
A Crossover Made in Heaven
“It’s clear that we both adore one another’s games a lot” — that’s how the team-up was announced, and the pairing makes an odd kind of sense: one game about a diver who hunts sea life for his sushi restaurant, one game about diving into an alien ocean and very much not wanting to be the hunted. Two studios, Krafton’s MintRocket and Unknown Worlds, swapping worlds for one last DLC.
You Finally Get to Fight a Nibbler Mango
That’s the part PC Gamer gleefully highlights: the trailer ends on a massive, intimidating boss — and the boss is a Nibbler Mango, the creatures that “start biting you the second you dive into Subnautica 2 and never really stop.” Subnautica 2 players having no way to kill large enemies “has been a bit of a controversy,” with some resorting to mods just to fight back. Now the answer arrives — inside another developer’s game, with a sushi restaurant waiting at the surface.
The crossover DLC is completely free and arrives in early 2027, closing the book on Dave the Diver’s post-launch story with the one crossover nobody saw coming and everybody should have.
