GTA 6 Extended Look Premieres Today on Netflix — Here’s How to Watch
Rockstar Games is finally giving fans what they’ve been waiting for: Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look premieres today, August 27, exclusively on Netflix before arriving on YouTube six hours later. This is Rockstar’s first official gameplay deep dive, and it’s a 30-minute showcase.
When and Where to Watch
The Extended Look will be available on Netflix first, with the YouTube release following six hours later. Here are the key times:
- Netflix premiere: August 27, 3:00 PM ET / 12:00 PM PT / 8:00 PM BST / 10:00 PM TRT
- YouTube release: August 27, 9:00 PM ET / 6:00 PM PT / 2:00 AM BST (Aug 28) / 4:00 AM TRT (Aug 28)
If you have a Netflix subscription, you’ll get the first look. If not, the YouTube upload is just hours behind. Either way, set your reminders.
What to Expect
This is not a trailer — it’s a full 30-minute gameplay deep dive. Based on everything Rockstar has said and the Dazed magazine preview published earlier this week, expect to see:
- Vice City in motion — the open world of Leonida, Rockstar’s take on Florida
- Jason and Lucia gameplay — seamless character switching, co-op mechanics, driving and shooting
- NPC behavior — the “total immersion” systems Rockstar has been building, with NPCs that react to your appearance and actions
- The morality system — more complex than Red Dead Redemption 2’s honor system
- Physical changes — how eating, sleeping, and exertion affect how Jason and Lucia look
Why the Extended Look Matters
This is the first time Rockstar has shown extended GTA 6 gameplay footage officially. The initial trailer dropped in December 2025. Trailer 2 arrived in June 2026. But neither showed actual gameplay — just cinematic footage. The Extended Look changes that.
It’s also a response to the leaks. A person or group called “CyberLeek” has been dropping gameplay clips for over a week, prompting Rockstar to issue an unprecedented public statement calling the leaks “heartbreaking for our team.” The Extended Look is Rockstar’s way of taking back the narrative.
What We Already Know
From the Dazed magazine September issue preview published on August 26:
- The game is “nearly finished” according to Rockstar’s statement
- Launch date is November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X
- An entire team was dedicated to NPC behavior, including a “fashion ecosystem” for NPCs
- 50 artists were hired to design murals around Vice City
- Ex-criminals and club promoters were consulted for character authenticity
What Should You Do?
- Open Netflix at 3:00 PM ET / 10:00 PM TRT to watch the Extended Look as soon as it drops
- Avoid social media if you’re worried about spoilers — leaked clips are still circulating
- Pre-order GTA 6 if you haven’t — the game launches November 19
- Watch the YouTube version six hours later if you don’t have Netflix
