Logitech has unveiled a full refresh of its G Pro accessory line: a new flagship mouse, a magnetic-switch keyboard, a long-battery headset and a knitted control mousepad — most of them landing in early October.
X3 Superstrike Fixes the X2’s Biggest Flaw
The headliner is the Pro X3 Superstrike ($200, October 6), the successor to the analog-switch mouse Logitech launched earlier this year. Like the X2, it uses the proprietary HITS haptic trigger system that replaces traditional microswitches — but this time in what Logitech calls a “lightweight, perfectly balanced chassis.” That last part matters: the original Superstrike’s top-heavy weighting was its most-criticized flaw among competitive players. The X3 also bumps battery life 50% to 135 hours at 1kHz polling, upgrades the Hero 2 sensor to 48K DPI, and ships in Midnight Black or Magenta Eclipse for $200 — twenty dollars more than the X2 carried.
Seven Months Later, Early Adopters Left Behind
PC Gamer’s hands-on is blunt: the X3 is “a great mouse, but it’s what the first should have been.” Shipping a fixed version just seven months after the $180 X2 means buyers of the original “might now be kicking themselves.” Logitech’s own Head of Engineering, Regis Croisonnier, told PC Gamer in February that the company “knew we had a golden nugget in our hands… so we took all the shortcuts we could” to get the analog tech to market first — reportedly aware that brands like Keychron were circling similar ideas. The shortcuts are exactly what the X3 now smooths over.
The Rest of the Line
The Pro X2 Rapid Gaming Keyboard ($230, available now) uses custom magnetic switches with granular sensitivity tuning, Rapid Trigger that resets a key the instant your finger lifts, and Key Priority for strafe-friendly double inputs. The Pro X Control Mousepad ($60, October 8) is built from knitted cloth for “balanced, omnidirectional glide” with a high-friction base. And the Pro X3 Lightspeed Gaming Headset ($250, October 8) adds a studio-grade 48kHz microphone, a 40% longer 70-hour battery, and a 10-band EQ through Logitech’s G Hub software.
