Persona 4 Revival has revealed its supporting cast — and it includes at least one very familiar voice. Atlus West announced the lineup on social media on September 21, confirming that Johnny Yong Bosch will reprise his role as detective Tohru Adachi in the upcoming remake.
The Supporting Cast Reveals
Alongside Adachi, the announcement named the rest of the supporting ensemble: Aika Nakamura voiced by Judy Alice Lee, Nanako Dojima voiced by Courtney Shaw, and Ryotaro Dojima voiced by Ray Chase. Bosch is the standout — his performance as Adachi is one of the most beloved in the series, and so far he appears to be the only member of the original English cast coming back.
Notably, Bosch also voiced protagonist Yu Narukami in the original Persona 4 — but he won’t be pulling double duty in Revival. Yu is now voiced by Nazeeh Tarsha, known for his work in Genshin Impact and the Kaiju No. 8 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime series.
Fans Are Confused About the Casting Logic
The reveal has left some fans scratching their heads. Atlus previously claimed availability issues kept most of the original cast away — a justification that didn’t line up with posts from several former cast members who said they wanted to return, including Yuri Lowenthal, who said he begged to reprise his role as Yosuke Hanamura. “OK, I guess we have to kind of once again roll up our sleeves… Alright, let’s start over. Let’s get a whole new cast in and let’s do our best,” general producer Kazuhisa Wada told GamesRadar of the recasting approach.
Kanji and Naoto’s Stories Stay Intact
In the same wave of interviews, Atlus also confirmed how Revival will handle two of the original’s most debated storylines. “The story of Kanji [and Naoto] can seemingly be a little bit iffy at times, but if you look at it deeper, you’d understand that it’s a whole more sincere story,” Wada told Ungeek. “So even back then and now, we can send these stories out with confidence.”
“The characters of P4 are beloved by fans, so we didn’t want to change their own personalities and identities,” director Daisuke Yajima added — though the team has added new details “to support the story and address the lack of understanding.” Vice reports that some imagery in Kanji’s infamous bathhouse-themed dungeon has been adjusted, and Revival won’t add the scrapped gay romance option some fans had hoped might return.
What Else the Broadcast Revealed
The new Persona 4 Revival Broadcast episode, which followed Tokyo Game Show 2026, also covered new character Aika — a classmate who works at her family’s restaurant Aiya and a brand-new Social Link — plus in-battle moves like Send Flying, Baton Pass, Blunder Cover, Prime Time and Series Finale. Atlus also confirmed a four-disc soundtrack CD for Japan, priced at 5,500 yen (about $35) with a 52-page booklet, launching alongside the game on February 18, 2027.
Persona 4 Revival launches February 18, 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X and PC, with a Switch 2 version following on May 20, 2027. It is a busy time for the franchise — a Persona Netflix series is also in development from the producers of Stranger Things.
