Sifu, Sloclap’s singular kung fu action game, is out now on Android and iOS. The French developer released the mobile port on October 13, priced at $7.99 / £6.99, following an announcement earlier in the month.
Built for Touch
Sloclap has fully optimized the game for mobile, featuring new touch-based controls designed specifically for phone screens. The port also includes a new adaptive camera that the studio says works better on smaller displays. The developer emphasized it worked to retain Sifu’s distinctive painterly art style and its fluid, impactful combat — though Eurogamer notes the image is softer as a result of less powerful hardware.
The Aging Mechanic Returns
The mobile version preserves Sifu’s unique and punishing core mechanic: every time the player dies, their character ages. Defeating enemies restores some youth, but repeated deaths will eventually age the protagonist to old age — triggering a game over. It’s a system that turns every fight into a high-stakes test of precision and patience.
A Proven Hit
Sifu was critically acclaimed upon its 2022 launch, selling 1 million copies in its first three weeks. Originally a PlayStation and Epic Games Store exclusive, it came to Steam and Xbox a year later, and was followed by Sloclap’s football game Rematch — also critically acclaimed and commercially successful.
With Sifu now on mobile, Sloclap brings one of the most distinctive action games of recent years to the platform where many players will experience it for the first time.
