The Tally Turns Your Life Into an Itemized Receipt — Free Demo Ahead of Steam Next Fest

The Tally cover — a deliberately low-poly PS2-era park scene with blocky trees and buildings behind a smiling low-poly face, with pixelated THE TALLY title text, from Olivia Gonsher's PS2-style comedy life sim

Your whole life, itemized. The Tally, a PS2-style comedy life sim from developer Olivia Gonsher, is about being a small, busy person in a mid-sized city — get a job, buy a home, pet a dog, make some choices. Every one of them is being counted. And you will die in about 90 minutes.

A Receipt at the End

The hook is the accounting: everyday choices become an itemized receipt at death, and that tally decides your afterlife. A full life takes roughly 90 minutes, mixing odd jobs, rent, dogs and dark humor. The deliberately low-poly PS2 look is the aesthetic point — janky on purpose, charming for it, and the store page leans into both the nostalgia and the unease of it.

Free Demo Ahead of Steam Next Fest

The free Windows demo is playable now, and the game takes part in Steam Next Fest on October 19–26. Steam lists the release date as “to be announced”; the developer plans a November 2026 launch at $4.99.

The Tally came to us through GamerMenu’s indie submissions program — and it’s the sharpest high-concept pitch the queue has produced since the submissions page opened.
