A step-by-step guide to sharpening your aim in Counter-Strike 2.
Crosshair Placement
The single biggest aim improvement is keeping your crosshair at head height at all times. As you move through angles, pre-aim where enemies will appear, not where the floor is. In CS2, the crosshair is smaller and more precise — make it your anchor.
Recoil Control
Learn the spray patterns. The AK-47’s first 10 bullets are the most important — practice pulling down and left. Use the practice map or the in-game recoil trainer. Master the 5-bullet burst first; full sprays come later.
Sensitivity Settings
Most pros play between 1.5 and 3.0 at 400 DPI. Lower sensitivity = more precise flicks but slower turns. Find what works and stick with it. Enable raw input and disable mouse acceleration.
Practice Routine
15 minutes daily on a deathmatch server or aim map will outperform hours of casual play. Focus on:
- Tap firing at range
- Counter-strafing (release movement key before shooting)
- Flick shots to targets at different heights
- Peeking angles correctly
Movement Matters
Aim is half movement. Learn to counter-strafe, peek corners tightly, and use jiggle peeks to bait shots. A player who aims well but moves poorly loses to a player who does both.
