Lords of the Fallen II Announced for 2026 at Gamescom

CI Games took to the Gamescom stage to announce Lords of the Fallen II, the sequel to 2023’s dark fantasy action RPG, targeting a 2026 release.

Building on a Solid Foundation

The original Lords of the Fallen (2023) was a surprise success, selling over 1.7 million copies and earning praise for its dual-world mechanic that let players toggle between the living and dead realms. The sequel aims to expand on that foundation with what CI Games describes as “bolder ambition” across combat, world design, and narrative.

What We Know

Details are still scarce — no gameplay footage was shown, just a cinematic reveal. But CI Games has confirmed the game will run on Unreal Engine 5 and will feature a larger, more interconnected world than its predecessor.

The Soulslike Crowd

The soulslike genre has only gotten more crowded since the first Lords of the Fallen launched. With Elden Ring DLC, Black Myth: Wukong, and now Black Myth: Zhong Kui all competing for the same audience, Lords of the Fallen II will need to clearly differentiate itself to stand out.
