Forza Horizon 6’s long-awaited PlayStation 5 port finally has a date — if a famously reliable leaker is to be believed. Dealabs’ billbil-kun, who KitGuru notes “rarely misses when it comes to dates,” claims to have obtained the exact release date for Forza Horizon 6 on PS5: January 26, 2027 — several weeks past the previously announced 2026 release window. “We’ve done our own investigation, and our research has paid off. Yes, we’ve managed to obtain the exact release date of Forza Horizon 6 on PS5,” the leaker wrote, adding that an official announcement could arrive this week alongside the opening of pre-orders.
Price, Discs and a Premium Mystery
Beyond the date, the report includes pricing: £59.99 in the UK and €69.99 in the rest of Europe, with a physical version — with a disc — available at retail. Whether PS5 owners get a Premium Edition is unverified. On PC and Xbox, the Premium Edition bundles the expansion pass, car pass and various in-game bonuses, plus up to four days of early access when pre-ordered; Eurogamer speculates Xbox may be planning a digital-only Premium Edition on PS5, which would be invisible to billbil-kun’s typically retail-based sources.
A Denial, an Apology, and Now a Delay
The report is the latest twist in a confusing saga. In late August, The Verge’s Tom Warren and IGN both reported that the PS5 version had slipped to 2027. Days later, Playground Games publicly pushed back, insisting the open-world racer had “not been pushed back” while quietly opening wishlisting on the PlayStation Store. Then, on October 6, the studio issued a statement on X apologizing for a general lack of communication about Forza Horizon 6 and promising to change how it communicates with players going forward. Eurogamer’s dry take: it’s “always possible the decision to delay Horizon 6 to January was made after Playground announced it was on track.”
Whenever it formally lands, the PS5 version is a milestone: the first Forza Horizon game on a PlayStation console. For a title that’s been one of 2026’s biggest sellers — Eurogamer notes it’s estimated to be the highest-grossing new release on Steam this year, in what’s shaping up to be a record year for Valve — the port gives Xbox’s multiplatform push its most mainstream test case yet. If the January 26 date holds, PlayStation players have a little over three months to wait; given the leaker’s track record, it’d be more surprising to be wrong than right.
