Cyberpunk 2077’s Update 2.500.100 is live — the free Edgerunners 2 Update, timed to the second season of the Netflix anime that premiered October 20. It’s out now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with the Switch 2 version following “in a couple of days,” CD Projekt Red confirmed during its RedStream.
It’s a substantial drop for a game that completed its redemption arc years ago: a brand-new story quest written with the anime’s team, a dual-wielding skill, customizable cyberware, cross-platform mod support, and a new radio station.
Dual-Wielding and Custom Chrome
The headline combat addition is a new skill that lets V dual-wield pistols and revolvers — “What’s better than blasting your way through a warehouse full of gangoons with a revolver, dealing one headshot after another?” Xbox Wire asks. “Doing it with two revolvers, obviously.”
Hand cyberware is now customizable, too: equip your Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, or Projectile Launch System and visit one of five Glamdocs — marked with a spray-paint icon on the map — each in a unique shop with its own intro scene, voiceover, and a catalog of cyberware skins with customizable colors.
‘Clampdown’ — an Edgerunners 2 Prequel in Night City Prison
The new side quest, Clampdown, is “more than a chance to encounter characters from the anime in the game — it serves as a prequel to the events of the series,” as Xbox Wire puts it. It begins as a gig from fixer Wakako and turns into a high-stakes mission in a brand-new location — Night City Prison — where V crosses paths with Weak Kingsley, a famed Night City merc and one of the main characters of Edgerunners 2.
CDPR associate game director Pawel Sasko said the quest was written with people involved in the Netflix show, and publishing producer Natalia Pych called it “the last job of the King’s team,” letting players meet crew members Emily, Meshuga, and Miguel. To unlock it, complete The Heist and two gigs for Wakako, then wait for her message. The quest also hands out Weak’s full outfit — vest, glasses, coat, pants — plus his signature revolver, Coronation.
Mods on Consoles, Xbox Play Anywhere, and More
The update brings cross-platform mod support to consoles, closing a long-standing gap with the PC version — and Cyberpunk 2077 is now an Xbox Play Anywhere game, meaning one digital purchase covers both Xbox Series X/S and the Xbox PC app, with saves transferring seamlessly between the two.
There’s also a new radio station, HKGN 102.FM, featuring official tracks from both Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Edgerunners 2; previously NPC-exclusive hairstyles for V; five new outfit sets at clothing vendors (the NUS Infiltrator set is available in Kabuki and Japantown); and four TWINTONE skins for the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech via Twitch Drops.
