After plenty of rumors, Epic Games has finally made it official: One Piece is coming to Fortnite. The Fortnite account on X posted three straw hat emojis on October 24, along with a short teaser in which the Going Merry, the Straw Hat Pirates’ first ship, sails out of the fog before a joint Fortnite and One Piece logo appears on screen.
Treasure Hunters Sets Sail November 1
The collaboration is tied to Treasure Hunters, a pirate-themed mini-season kicking off November 1 and closing out Chapter 7 before Chapter 8 arrives — the same account posted “The greatest adventure of all! 11.1” that day to tease the start date. As Insider Gaming notes, this is the payoff to rumors that stretch back to September, when it was first teased that the mini-season closing out Chapter 7 would center on One Piece, with the official Fortnite Twitter account playing into the speculation.
What Epic hasn’t detailed yet: which characters will show up as skins, what’s coming to the Item Shop, or whether the One Piece content goes live on day one or later in the season. One detail fans were quick to spot, per TechPowerUp: the Going Merry in the teaser looks like the anime version, not the ship from Netflix’s live-action series — so the collab will probably lean on the anime, though Epic hasn’t said so.
Pirate Miku and Kasane Teto Are Coming Too
Treasure Hunters isn’t just about the Straw Hats. The reveal trailer — a treasure map and the November 1 date — also teased the return of Hatsune Miku as a Fortnite Sprite, alongside a tease for a Kasane Teto Fortnite Sprite, and TechPowerUp reports that Pirate Miku and Kasane Teto look set to arrive based on teasers from their official accounts.
This isn’t the first time One Piece has touched Fortnite. Netflix and Enthusiast Gaming put out a One Piece Creative map back in 2023 to promote the live-action show — though it shipped with no skins. The scale is different this time: One Piece is an anime with nearly 1,200 episodes to date, a manga that’s been running for nearly 30 years, and a Netflix-exclusive live-action series, making the Straw Hats one of the biggest franchises Fortnite has ever pulled in. Fortnite’s Squid Game collaboration set sail back in August; One Piece is the next stop on the crossover map.
More details should land as November 1 gets closer.
