Inkturn’s Two-Inkfish Trail Puzzle Has a Free Steam Demo Ahead of Next Fest

A puzzle game about leaving the right trail. Inkturn, from developer Lucent Trace, is a logic puzzle built on one elegant rule: you coordinate two inkfish to collect every star, and collecting a star switches control to the other fish. Each fish leaves a trail that blocks its own path but enables the other’s — so every line you paint is both a wall and a bridge, depending on who’s swimming.

Two Fish, One Shared Picture

The rhythm of it is the thing: plan a route for one inkfish, know that its trail is the other fish’s road, and switch at the moment a star flips control. Simple rules, surprising solutions — the puzzle ends up being less about where you go and more about what you leave behind for your other self.

Demo Now, Next Fest Later

A free Windows demo with 10 puzzles is available now on Steam, and the game is set to take part in Steam Next Fest (October 19–26) ahead of its “coming soon” full release. There’s an official trailer on YouTube, and a proper press kit for the curious.

Inkturn came to us through GamerMenu’s indie submissions program. Of this week’s queue it was the cleanest example of the genre’s best trick: a rule you can state in one sentence and still be untangling a week later.
