Ten years of Lincoln Clay — now in native current-gen. Mafia III’s 10-year anniversary arrives with the gift 2K is giving the game itself: native PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions, released on October 8 alongside Update 1.12.
Native Current-Gen at Last
As MP1st reports, the native PS5 and Xbox Series versions went live on October 8 — finally freeing the 2016 open-world crime epic from last-gen backward compatibility. KitGuru’s coverage adds that Mafia II appears to be joining the treatment as well, with native current-gen ports for both Mafia II and III “finally” landing on modern hardware.
Update 1.12
The accompanying update “addresses various bugs,” per MP1st — a clean-up patch to help the native versions feel at home. 2K’s official Mafia site is carrying the full details as part of the anniversary celebration.
Ten Years in New Bordeaux
2K is marking the decade officially, celebrating ten years since Lincoln Clay’s revenge story first hit shelves. And it’s been one of the franchise’s busiest stretches: Mafia: The Old Country launched in August, and now the classic entries are getting fresh coats of paint. For a series that spent years dormant, the Mafia family is suddenly very much back in business.
