Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has revealed its full Year 1 DLC roster — and the roadmap runs all the way to summer 2027. Developer Arc System Works announced the lineup on X alongside brand-new artwork from Marvel artist Peach Momoko: Phoenix Cyclops, Thor (Jane Foster), Venom and Jubilee are all on the way to the PS5 and PC fighter, with a Klyntar stage thrown in for good measure.
The Year 1 Roadmap
The schedule is spaced across the next year. Phoenix Cyclops arrives first on November 2 — with “Classic” and “Legacy” costumes for the character launching the same day — followed by Thor (Jane Foster) in winter 2027. Venom and the Klyntar stage land in spring 2027, and Jubilee wraps up the pass in summer 2027. The characters and the stage make up the Year One Characters & Stage Pass, though each can also be bought individually.
Why a Phoenix Version of Cyclops?
Going with the Phoenix Force version of Cyclops — rather than the traditional leader of the X-Men — was a deliberate left turn. “We felt this interpretation would allow us to create fresher visuals and a more exciting fighting style while offering something unexpected for players,” producer Takeshi Yamanaka explained in a PlayStation Blog post. It’s also why Cyclops is DLC and not a day-one fighter: the team “made the difficult decision to continue working on the character until we felt like we were adding something new” before releasing him as the game’s first post-launch fighter. Voiced by Ray Chase, Phoenix Cyclops combines a wide variety of Optic Blast attacks with the devastating power of the Phoenix Force — including Dark Phoenix gameplay.
A Sale and a Trial, Just in Time
If you’ve been waiting on the game itself, the timing is no accident. Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls kicked off its first-ever PlayStation Store sale this month, discounting the Ultimate Edition ahead of Cyclops’s arrival, and PlayStation Plus subscribers can try the game with a 3-hour Game Trial. With the fighter already out on PS5 and PC — and its first DLC character exactly three weeks away — the Year 1 pass gives the roster a long tail well into 2027.
