Digital Sun’s beloved shopkeeper-dungeon-crawler Moonlighter is getting a sequel, and Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault launches into Early Access on October 23 for PC.
Shop by Day, Dungeon by Night
The original Moonlighter hooked players with its unique loop: run a shop during the day to sell loot gathered from dungeons at night, then use the profits to upgrade your gear and venture deeper. The sequel expands on this formula with a new world of “mystery, commerce, and danger.”
What’s New
Will — the protagonist from the first game — returns for a new adventure. The “Endless Vault” subtitle suggests procedurally generated or endlessly expanding dungeons, which would add significant replay value. The art style has been evolved, appearing more polished while maintaining the charming pixel-art aesthetic.
Full Release Plans
Early Access starts October 23 on PC, with console versions (Xbox Series X|S and PS5) coming later. Developer Digital Sun has a good track record with Early Access — the original Moonlighter’s EA period was well-managed with regular updates and clear communication.
