Agent 47 has a new target, and this one has 31 million subscribers. Hitman: World of Assassination’s latest Elusive Target mission, The Host, is now live — and it stars none other than Jacksepticeye, the hugely popular Irish YouTuber, as a murder suspect you have until November 25 to eliminate. The mission is completely free, and if you’ve ever wanted to take down one of YouTube’s biggest personalities with a chandelier, an exploding golf ball or a suspiciously poisoned sandwich, this is your window.
Who Is Finn Colton?
In The Host, Jacksepticeye — real name Seán McLoughlin, who counts over 31 million subscribers and 17 billion total views on YouTube — plays Finn Colton, known online as Finnvictus: a controversial, yet popular content creator and former child star suspected of murdering a fellow content creator who has since gone missing. It’s a relative of the missing person who hires Agent 47 for the job. To get close to his target, 47 goes undercover as a reclusive millionaire named Tobias Rieper and appears as a guest on Colton’s “Finn and Friends” podcast. To play the mission, you’ll need to have previously unlocked the Hawke’s Bay location.
‘Getting to Actually Step Into the World of Assassination Is Unreal’
For Jacksepticeye, the role is a full-circle moment. “I’ve been playing HITMAN with my community for years, so getting to actually step into the World of Assassination is unreal,” he said. “Finn is loud, paranoid, and completely obsessed with content, and playing him was an absolute blast. I can’t wait to see all the creative ways you take him down, so make sure you’re recording it!” He’s in good company, too: Elusive Targets are Hitman’s series of free limited-time missions built around well-known actors and entertainers, and previous targets this year have included hip hop stars Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg, as well as actress Milla Jovovich.
A New Season of Content
The Host kicks off a new season of content for World of Assassination: five new challenges, the return of previous Elusive Target missions, a Twitch Drops campaign, and a paid themed DLC for The Host that bundles new cosmetics with permanent access to the mission. Better yet, The Host is also included in the game’s free demo — so even players who don’t own Hitman can take their one shot at the internet’s loudest target. Hitman: World of Assassination is also playable in VR on Steam and PlayStation VR2, if you’d like to garrote a YouTuber in immersive first person. You have until November 25.
