Capcom’s golden streak is now a matter of record. The publisher’s half-year financial report, covering April 1 through September 30, shows growth in both revenue and profit across nearly all segments of the business — and its strongest first half ever, driven by a run of critically acclaimed new releases and a back catalogue that refuses to stop selling.

The New Releases Are Carrying the Streak

Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the samurai action game hailed by many as the true successor to Sekiro and a new benchmark for parry-based combat, has now sold over 1.7 million copies — up from the 1 million it shifted at launch. Pragmata, another critical and financial hit, has more than doubled its opening tally to reach 2.7 million copies. And Resident Evil Requiem, the series’ February blockbuster whose $500 million launch we covered here, has now surpassed 8.5 million copies sold.

Resident Evil’s Record Run

The Resident Evil franchise is doing the heaviest lifting. Resident Evil 2 Remake has officially surpassed 20 million copies sold, holding its spot as the second best-selling Capcom game of all time, while 2023’s Resident Evil 4 Remake is the company’s top seller of the year with 3.5 million copies sold in 2026 so far — bringing its lifetime total to 17.15 million. Six of Capcom’s ten best-selling games this year are Resident Evil titles, and the milestones keep stacking up elsewhere: Resident Evil 3’s remake sits at 14.93 million, Devil May Cry 5 at 14.78 million, and Resident Evil 7 at 18.87 million — just shy of its own 20 million mark. Monster Hunter: World, meanwhile, is now well past 30 million.

A Record Half — With One Conspicuous Absence

Capcom also recorded its highest-ever number of unit sales for the first half of any fiscal year, a figure the company attributes to its strong back catalogue and regular sales and discounts, with digital sales accounting for the vast majority of games income. What the report doesn’t contain, however, is any mention of Monster Hunter Wilds. The publisher shared no updated sales figure for the game, despite giving a milestone to its predecessor — and even though Wilds was incredibly successful at launch, its player base tapered off dramatically soon after. The last official figure remains close to 11 million copies from last year’s report, and the game failed to crack Capcom’s top 10 for the first half of 2026.

There’s still fuel in the tank: Monster Hunter Wilds is coming to Switch 2 this December, with the Ascendance expansion due next year. But for now, Capcom’s record half belongs to samurai, astronauts, and a whole lot of zombies.
